Drake repop is not the correct length for your '37.
If you locate a NOS belt of that same number, you can easily see the Drake belt is shorter.
If you have the correct intake and generator pulley (3 11/16" diameter), you will be unable to get his belt to fit regardless of what you may try. If you have a later pulley (3 3/16" diameter, introduced late 1940 ) you may be able to tip the generator forward, slip the belt on and get the generator back in place. It's close, but can and has been done.
