Re: how can you tell the 1942 from 1947 pickup apart
Military G8T types had the bumps on the fenders where the park lamps would go but no lamps. The headlamps had a guard bar on the outside of the light assembly and there were no Ford scripts on the hoods that I've seen. I haven't seen any 43 thru 44 Commercial pickup types. Just the G8Ts. The 1945 start up for civilian production pickups & trucks was late in the year after the War Department gave the go ahead so the production wasn't real high but they are still out there.
