Re: 34 pickup oil question and ignition resistor
The resistor question depends on the coil you have. If it is the original style coil that is mounted to the top of the distributor then it needs the resistor under the dash. If you need one your best bet is to try and locate an original one, the repo units are mostly junk! If it has a remote located can style coil it most likely does not need a resistor (depends of the resistance of the coil).
The original resistor should be on a panel along with the fuse. If the panel is missing one would guess the wiring has been changed. And while were at it, is it still 6v positive ground? If not, that changes everything.
Update, I was thinking 36 when I posted the diagram. A 34 should still have the floor starter and the main wiring connection from there.
