The patina trend came along at just the right time for me and the Merc. Before I could paint this one it needs major floor and rocker replacement. I lack the skills to do it myself and it would cost way more than the car would ever sell for to do all the work. If it was a coupe, convertible, woody wagon, etc. I'd do it but this old four door sedan's primary value is as family history to me. Its good mechanically and the view from the drivers seat over that faded and scratched hood and pitted windshield is just fine.
Now fake patina is just a little strange to me but some people like that too. Mine is all the real thing. :-)
