Default Re: All lights work except the backup lights?

This is the part of the story where I drop the ball...

The '55 I have has backup light fixtures but no wiring at all for them or switch on the shifter. If I knew the BU light wire colors I'd tell you.
The "R" tail-light terminal on the headlight switch originally had only a Black wire connected to it, if there's also another wire on it that could be the backup light power wire.

If you want to start testing with the connections at the shifter they are under the carpet on the left side of the shifter. The wires for the NSS half of the switch are Red w/ a blue stripe, so it will be the other two.
The wires in the trunk on the front side of the backup light fixtures are easier to get to but may not be much help, unless it's just the bulbs being burned out. The wire color for the BU lights at the rear of the car may (or may not) carry thru to the front of the car under the dash.
