Default Re: Suggestions for shipping an early Ford transmission

Thanks to those who have responded with additional comments and suggestions.
Since I enjoy designing, building or making things, I decided to sketch out a design for a wooden shipping crate, and then compare this to Mac VanPelt's crate design on his website. I will be building one of the two designs, or maybe some combination of both designs, and check shipping by Fastenal and FedEx to determine the best way to go.
Shipping is getting crazy, especially international shipping, and it doesn't look like this situation is going to get better in the forseeable future.
