The Johns-Manville Ford special speedometer was available from Ford Motor Company from October 1914 thru July 1915. Ford ceased installation of this speedometer in July 1915, and after this date, speedometers became accessories from the dealership or the speedometer company.

The JM speedometer used a centrifugal type weight to make the needle move and is a good speedometer. The internal frame is made of pot metal, but in my experience restoring these speedometers, the pot metal is usually in good condition. For the price you are about to pay, the lens should not be cracked and the silver dial face should be clean. I hope this helps,
