Re: Steering box/shaft removal procedure.
unsnap the bail on the bottom end that holds the light switch body together, then give the body a slight twist and it will pull off the bottom. you can see the stamped track that the twist will follow on the sides of the can if you look close. look at a picture in your favorite parts catalogue. once the body and switch assembly is off, you will see a two pronged fork sticking out the end of the horn rod. that fork has a C clip under the fork. it is spring loaded, so you push the fork towards the steering wheel and you will see the clip, remove it and the fork comes off. now if you have a roadster, you can pull the horn/light rod out of the steering wheel. if a closed car, you must tilt the column down to get enough room to remove it. that rod is thin, weak, and valuable...dont bend it or force it, you need the full length to slide out. now, i dont think you are going to remove or install the box with the motor in place, but i will let the 32 guys take it from here
