The big problem with RHD cars is the way heat enters through the penetrations in the firewall and floor made for pedals and steering column, all things that a passenger in a LHD car doesn’t have to contend with. I imagine such a passenger would get more heat than the driver of a LHD car but still no where near what the driver of a RHD car gets. They are NOT fun to drive on a hot day.
Heat wrap helps only a little, heat shield not at all and trying the restrict the size of the openings for the pedals is far from easy - they wobble about as they are pressed so a close fit in the hole means they don’t return to their “home” position. The accelerator, being directly under the steering column only aggravates the whole mess.
As I’ve said before, Ford made a mess of their design for the Model A. Seems they didn’t think about what they were doing and how it would work RHD. They had been selling Model Ts RHD for years and clearly intended from the start to do the same with the Model A, yet they didn’t learn from the lessons of the Model T. That said, I still like my As.
