I found this post from Lawson Cox on outside door handle removal (for a 35).......

Take the outside screws out of the handle, then pull the handle out as far as it will go. At that point, hold the outside handle and the inside handle at the same time and work the inside handle up and down so the holes inside the lock align and then pull the outside handle all the way out. You have to play with it a little to get it right. Replace in reverse order.

Will this work on my '41????

I've started on the drivers door repair and actually won't be as bad as I was thinking on the lower hinge repair.
