Sorry, was looking at some bad info.
The Runtz is simply a different resistance. The voltage drop across any resistor is dependent on the current through it. You may or may not see 6V out of it.
Add one of these resistors to each
side to make a thermal flasher work with LEDs:

An electronic flasher doesn't need the extra load resistor.
