I was working for Brunswick Corp. (yup, the Bowling people) too many years ago.
When the owner came over and asked how long it would take to fix his Electronic Automatic Scorekeeper. I told him "about 15 Minutes'.
He came back an hour later and asked again....I said "about 15 minutes"
He came back another hour later ...same thing.
Finally, after several trips he became frustrated and said "you keep saying "about 15 minutes" it's been over 3 hours why do you keep lying to me ?"
I said " you asked me how long to fix it.... I said 15 minutes
You never asked how long it would take to find the problem.
Once I find out what's wrong, it should only take "about 15 minutes " to fix it !
