Yeah, it happens. I've been lucky so far...
I would begin a re restoration of this coupe with a nice 30-31 rolling chassis with engine and steering column. Then salvage what body and fender sheet metal that isn't too extensively damaged, and purchase only what is needed in terms of fenders, etc. The body doesn't look too horrible.
