Fairlane (top-of-the-line of the 3 series) was color-keyed to the lower color of the dash. Well, at least the white lower color of the dash in my Victoria carried through to the column and steering wheel. Customline (mid-price range) apparently used black wheel/column, and the Mainline (bottom-of-the-barrel model line) would have been one-color-fits-all, i.e. black. But, as Kultulz notes, check the paint charts to verify.
