If a person is restoring a car to Fine Point Standards, the finish on the cotter pins is something he may be interested in.
A Fine Point Restoration is not for everyone but some folks want to try to restore a Model A as closely to how it was when it left the factory as they can.
Others want to restore a car and do some upgrades and use the Model A for touring which is also a good thing.
And there are those who just want to try and keep their Model A running so they can drive it around town and participate in local events which is also OK.
I guess what I am trying to say, this hobby has something for everyone which is what makes the Model A such a great hobby car.
Again, this is JUST MY OPINION,
