Thing is, the "shit on a stick" tests detect cancer only after it's present - colonoscopy can remove polyps before they become cancerous. Both have their value as long as one understands what they do and don't do (or doo-doo
). Medicare pays for both.
Colonoscopy isn't that bad - they give you general anesthetic for it. The worst part is the laxative to clean you out the day before, and even that just involves a lot of time on the toilet.
