Default Re: Coolant for Aluminum Heads and Radiator

I did a later model engine swap in a non Ford vehicle. That engine had the pink long life stuff from the factory and MANY people told me I had to run it.

After some research I found it was perfectly OK to use the green stuff we are all used to. It says safe for ALL metals.

The kicker is I found the pink stuff does not protect copper or brass as per the label on the factory pink coolant. My truck has a copper/brass radiator and heater core as well as some of the fittings.

The engine came out of a truck with all aluminum components and an iron block. Glad I didn't listen to all the "experts" telling me the engine HAD to have the pink factory coolant.

Moral of the story..........read the label to be sure.
