Thanks, GaryU., for the link. My ‘40 is a “driver” and while I prefer it to be as much like original as possible, I’m willing to go with new parts if they are “period correct” and improve safety and/or protect the car. So, I’m willing to go with the new oil pan boss and plumb the 1940 by-pass oil filter canister I purchased in a way that I think is period correct as well as an improvement. While not concours, I am very happy with my ‘40 and want to drive it and protect it until it’s time to pass it to the next person in line, which I hope is a long time from now. Thanks, again.
