Default Re: Cam Timing question for the experts on Isky 1007B

A timing card is included for a reason with all after market cams. The reason this information is supplied is due to the fact theres no way the cam profile will be spot on when the grinding takes place. We all know out of the box any cam grind can be run without checking the timing they will work however if the time is taken to actually check the timing and set it per the timing card the difference can be substantial. A typical NEW Isky flathead cam will be off by as much as 6 to 9 degrees this i have found is common and the reason the timing card is included in the box. Most guys will never find this because they just bolt the cam gear on and install it in the engine.
