Default Re: torquing 8ba heads with an oil filter

I just went out to the garage and found that I can fit a torque wrench to those oil canister head bolts by using a short 3/8 socket and 3/8 inch extension with 3/8 adapters on a 1/2 in. drive torque wrench. Also, using a short 1/2 in. drive socket on the head bolt with my 1/2 in. drive torque wrench will also work. As a last resort you could cut a longer head bolt socket shorter if you have a lathe. If not, grind it shorter as needed. 1st photo shows 1/2 in socket directly on torque wrench. 2nd photo shows 1/2 in drive torque wrench using 3/8 in. reducer and extension. There is still enough room to move the toque wrench handle.
However, i like V8's swivel extension idea a lot
