Default Re: Honor flight

I was blessed to meet a gentleman and his wife the other day outside a restaurant here in Tucson, Arizona. They loved my "A" and he told us that he was nearing his 97th birthday. He had been a tail gunner for 35 missions in a B-17, shot down once and had to bail out over Spain.
These folks were heading home to San Diego after a visit with family. He was a sharp as a tack, still driving and shared how he was going to get an "Honor Ride" when he got back home.
These folks are a treasure and anytime you meet one you realize that in a few years they will all be gone. Still a few Korean vets around a good number of us Nam vets are still standing. It won't be long before we are the dwindling group.
Thank you to all and there families for their service, and God Bless! Chap
