You can shorten the one you have by putting a Z kink in it. (bending it). Shorten it by the above method to the length described and if it seems to work you know what length you need to find, or modify one to suit.
The dimension seems a bit wishy washy to me, how can you dimension something to the outer edge of a hole when the end is spring loaded?

My 33 has one with a Z bend in it, on my 41 pu I made a brass threaded adjuster and used that to fine tune the length.
