If at all possible, Ford always insisted that all worldwide plants had water access for to both receive & ship goods out. This would be for big assembly plants like Istanbul , Geelong, Brisbane, Yokohama & Seaview [NZ] etc.
Regarding Istanbul plant, it was the biggest & only assembly plant in the Middle East area, financed & partly supplied by Ford Britain, also supplied by Ford US. [Those Model A's do not appear to be British] They had labour problems there for some years in early '30's & it never made a profit.
