Trotted out to check my regulators and found that both acetylene were single stage. The good USA brands at work were found to be single stage. Since the acetylene pressure is a fraction of the Oxygen, seems like an engineering overkill to bother with the second stage. Worth checking if the number of stages is at all an issue.
