Yeah it seems tickets start around that number here in Washington too. Probably to address their always present budget shortfalls and overspending! Thankfully the last and only ticket I ever got was nearly 13 years ago in North Dakota, and it cost me $26 for going 81 in a 70 on the interstate. To think I was upset about that number! I was a poor college student though at the time..Since I fly airplanes for a living tickets are generally frowned upon in a big way. You're expected to disclose them and talk about ANY tickets in any job interview you might have. Funny thing is I was interviewing for a small commuter airline and when I told the chief pilot that yes, I had a speeding ticket on this date and he said "well that's ok, I wouldn't hire you if you didn't have any"
I got the job but a week later Delta Airlines cancelled their ongoing contract and they went out of business before I could start training there.
