Bill, to answer your question - yes, they do flex and become prone to cracking and breaking. However, that being said, it does take several decades of driving for anything significant to happen, so it is nothing to worry about. After 30 years of constant driving, IF and When it becomes a problem, simply buy another set. Most of us will never see the problem - only the next generation of drivers will ever be subject to the possibility.
