Hey Dennis, close the GAV back to about ½ turn. Unscrew the gas line from the carburetor, open the valve and see what kind of flow you have, should be steady stream, if not, crack the gas cap and see if it improves, then pull the filter out of the front of the carburetor, clean and replace, as well as any other filters you have inline.
Also, if you don't have the pencil filter that goes in the top of the tank valve, get one and install it.
