I have a '29 Coupe also, and have filed, sanded, heated, and cut more than a few of these bumpers trying to exact a fit that works, and looks halfway decent.
The photo is the drivers side, the passenger side is the "project" side.. alas,still minus bumper and metal strip. Good luck in your efforts, and if you find a solution, let me know.. I think the original assembly of the parts was before the door moved too far on the assembly line.! kb
