I built a 32 roadster in the early 70's and ran a Chevy 4 cylinder with the Merc marine equipment + a powerglide and a banjo rear. Drove it all over the country back when the speed limit was 60. Just hold it in low and wind it up then shift, I could keep up fairly well with the big dogs.
