Agreed - unless your from here - then from about may-october your under a constant tornado watch and when the sirens go off you go outside

But yes - most phones will do the weather alert if there is severe storms in your path and heed their advice on what to do. Also if you don't know DO NOT seek shelter from a tornado in a culvert or overpass - bottom of an open ditch is safer. (safest is basement then next safest is smallest interior room with no windows)

Yea our storms can pop up in 20 minutes sometimes and disappear just as quick.

Calm before the storm is a real thing. Tornado weather is usually oddly bright, and VERY VERY still not a single leaf moves, sky can turn a greenish color. Also watch animals and listen for birds if you dont see a single critter or see dog/cat/bird/fish acting weird and no birds chirping seek shelter.

Flash floods are a nasty thing around here as well. Drive extra cautious at night or not at all if you can help it during a flash flood warning/severe storms.
