Obviously there are two sides to this debate, but I was getting a set of wheels ready for powder coat. In straightening spikes etc, I was amazed at how easily paint chips. Yes it is easy to repaint, but unless you sand them down, the divot still shows. My roadster has wheels that were powder coated, 8 years ago, and they still look perfect. It is a driver, and has been on dirt roads many times. So I am still an ardent fan.
