Does the seller have the receipts for the work that was done? If so, you will probably find there is way more than $6000 in the motor. Is it a stock motor or does it have speed equipment on it(aluminum heads, multi carbs, etc). I had a flathead built in the 90's for a stock '38 Ford. It was $3500 in those days, so that was 20 years ago. The cost of doing business has risen considerably since those days. You might buy that motor for $5000 but you will insult the seller at $3000 if he has the paper work to prove the work.
