We don't have titles for cars so the American system is a mystery to me. I have imported a couple of cars from there and have worked out that title is needed for a car like a Model A if there is the chassis and the two axles. Ie, it can be rolled. Even if the front and rear end are removed from the chassis, a title is needed. It doesn't need to have any mechanicals or steering! The body doesn't need a title. My confusion is compounded by the fact that the rules vary from state to state and it seems to depend on from which state the car departs.
