The engine that was photographed on August 6, 1904, must not have been used in production because they figured out how to screw on the heads to look like what you posted above. You can see the difference in this earlier version with three head bolts.

Most of this has been posted before but it is quite interesting to see how rapidly these designs changed.

The Whitlock Coil Pipe Co. radiator was used from the beginning and it seems to have been introduced to the trade in June 1903. Packard picked it up too. It probably came as a radiator/fan unit and a "drop on the car" item for Ford. I think it used a "spring belt" if I remember correctly.

Interesting how they took the foot feed fuel pedal off the August 6, 1904, car and it took 24 years to put it back on the Model A. Some things were not fast at Ford!
