Hi Doug, use the "correct" pieces together and have no issues!

We use both the 1-pc "Neoprene" seal along with the "spiral-less" sleeve, never had as much as a slight drip from the front, ever. We also leave this as a customer option, some still want the older style setup??

We move a number of these pieces during the course of a year.

P.S. Here's a shot of both sleeve types and the 1-pc seals. I don't have the 2-pc seals handy today and most are packaged in the full gasket sets anyway.
