I would ask Ron about this. For the record, I've been running a 59A for several years, with 4-ring pistons, and I am running three rings (leaving off the bottom ring).
(47 passenger, stocker). No problems, and it does not use any oil.
What does Ron say?? I realize he has posted something to the effect that his current street engines use 3-ring pistons. Same thing ????
