Veterans day (in the US) was originally Armistice Day, remembering the ending of hostilities in WW1 Novermber 11 1918.


My grandfather, Jay A Wescott Sr, served in the 65th Coast Artillery and was deployed to France in 1917-1918. He was wounded by gas at Verdun. I have attached a scan of a page of his photo album. He passed when I was an infant.
