Default Re: F-100 sterring box adjustment

All mechanical steering boxes should be adjusted without any load on them. Unhook the drag link from the Pitman arm and then use the Pitman arm as a lever when doing the adjustment. Now with the drag link unconnected, then find the center of the steering box by turn the steering wheel all the way to one end, count the total revolutions to the other end (use the spokes on the steering wheel as an indicator), and then go back half on that amount. All mechanical boxes must be adjusted while the box (not the car) is at center.
If adjusting a F100 box, end to end is approx 5-1/4 revolutions. Center would be 2-5/8 turns or just a hair past 2-1/2 turns.

If you need additional help, then call me. I will be glad to assist.
