ON further measuring ,and reading the green bible properly,I find they ARE for fitting a 2.399 dia main crank into the later block,what threw me was they were 2.710 od,well thats what I thought,on measuring the thickness ,I find they are a little bit sprung and are in fact ,2.670 dia.
Brian Walt and Kurt were correct.
