Viv...The long tail light stand was used on touring sedans only so that the license plate would clear the trunk bulge (not an issue with slant backs and coupes). Most vehicles had the license plate on the drivers side of the car. Therefore LHD vehicles had the plate on the left side while RHD vehicles had the plate on the right side.
