i have a book---clutches,transmissions from ford printed in 1947
.015 max clearance between drive lug and plate (on last page it gives .005-.015)

on the last page, specifications page --spring pressure at 1-9/16
grey---115-120 lbs ---11" clutch
blue 125-135 ---10' clutch
brown 147-153 9" clutch

then back in the text it gives-- spring load (pound feet) ---i
B-7563 110-120
BB-7563-B 110-130
74-7563 (this is 60hp, it's built about the same) 135-140
there is no mention of distance
if the plate itself won't clean up of .031 from original size replace it (no mention of original size), thought there is a note---if refaces over .020 add shims of the same amount under spring seat

set fingers at 3/4", .340 spacer or new clutch disc

For the A I am still using the one that came with the car untouched, on the Traction I made the springs into groups that balanced the pressure, made insulating washers out of surplus epoxy circuit boards (I was getting paid to peel the gold off) ---here traction parts are hard to get
