Default Re: Just wondering : what's your year of birth ?

LOL. HEH HEH, LOL! Actually I was born in 1903, in West Orange, NJ and I knew Tom Edison. He used me on some of he more difficult experiments. I recall Mr Ford coming around to worship (read annoy) mr Edison and all his patents. Mr Edison would put up with it for a while and then he'd have to take a nap. He'd lay down on the cot and pretend to go to sleep and then open one eye and ask "Is he gone yet?). He wasn't sure what to do with those Fords he was always giving mr Edison. You see West Orange is on the two Orange Mountains and the damn things couldn't get over the hills. He tried selling them, but no one wanted them.

Born in 1888.

I was one of Henry Ford's first employees, having been brought over from the shops of John and Horace Dodge, to help lay out the set-up to correctly fit the chassis drive chain components that Dodge built, to the Ford bodies of the FordMobile. After that company failed, I joined Henry in his later Ford Motor Company in 1903. We still used automotive drive units that John and Horace built to power the new Ford.

My memory is beginning to fade now, but as I remember, John and his brother Horace were major stock holders in the new Ford Motor Company, until Henry's shrewd move about 1923 to squeeze them out.

I don't drive much anymore, since my eyes started to go south.

I use public transportation to get to my job as Air Traffic Controller.
