I am running two 180 degree stats from Robert Shewman. I just got them last week and they are very nice and are working great so far.

One thing to mention when using a laser temp gun is to keep in mind that the internal temperature of the engine will be several degrees hotter than the external temps you read with the gun.

I am by no means an expert as all of these guys just helped me work through my own cooling issues, but while reading up on my issues I found that information on using the temp guns.
