The current Ford Barn format is the way the HAMB (Hokey Ass Message Board), or Jalopy Journal Forum if you will, used to be. When Shelley had it, it was a lot different and not quite as easy to follow for folks that weren't used to it. A lot of forums were pretty basic back then. All the join dates go back to when the current format started.

All forums generally started to become more popular after MS Windows came out back in the 90s. That software and the browser that came with it really started to open things up. Stuff was pretty basic on DOS & OS based software before that. Todays more updated format is a way lot more versatile than what it used to be. Maybe still not perfect but it's always getting better over time.
