Bob, you can get a Snyder's 6:1 head for about $400. It is a good head. If you want to go above that ratio, forget about stock looking and the $400. The high performance heads (not just high compression) have modified combustion chamber shapes for improved flow and flame travel. Those higher performance heads are about $800 and up. I just changed from a Snyder's 6:1 to a Lion III head. Not much increase in compression ratio but better flow and performance. The Brumfield heads website that is easily found online, is out of date so the prices are too good to be true.
