Gary, That's interesting. I couldn't see any wood on the inside, and the quarter window and channel are between the exterior wood and the interior quarter panel. I know that in our '47 Convertible (
not a Sportsman) the inner quarter panel covers the strut and braces for the top mechanism along with the window regulator. The position of the chrome escutcheons (for lack of a better description) is, as far as I can tell, nowhere near any wood...? I can't recall ever seeing the escutcheons on any other Sportsman, Ford or Mercury...
