Well, that's your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it. Its my opinion, and I'm entitled to it as well, that alternators look out of place on Flatheads, regardless of the method of attachment.
I have both 6 and 12 volt generators (
where applicable) in use on several of our Flatheads that are driven daily (
and night time too)
and I've never seen the need to install an alternator. The only reason I have an alternator on the
'39 LZ is because the previous owner installed it. I must say, I'm surprised that you would be in favor of someone installing a non authentic part on a Flathead... What would the judges say...?
