A temperature gun is a great diagnosing tool. When I rebuilt the rear in my coupe I was advised to it by Tom W. (RIP) and it worked beautifully. The temp never got over 100 F., Brakes were hot on the right side and that was how I found out that the brakes were in constant contact with the drum.
