It seems maybe no harm will come from it?
I dunno Michael....the front oil pressure relief valve has a flat on it in order that a small amount of oil can 'bleed off' to lube the timing gears. I think that works in conjunction with the other restriction provided by that protrusion on the front gallery plug. Fitting a plug without that protrusion could allow more oil to escape through the flat in relief valve....meaning less oil to bottom end?

Henry, renowned for being frugal, obviously decided that the extra material in that plug was warranted....
