Just checked the Engine Specifications for the Canadian 1959 Meteor, and they are listed the same as the Canadian 1959 Fords. In case Readers are not familiar with the Meteor, in actual fact, it is nearly identical to the regular 1959 Fords, but had a different Grille and slightly different Side Trim. The name Ford does not appear anywhere on the Meteor. The Meteor was sold in Canadian Mercury Dealers, at a price considerably lower than the regular Mercury models. To even the score, the Ford Dealers got the Monarch, which in reality was really a Mercury "under the skin". Like the Meteor, the Monarch did not have any reference to Mercury, and was sold by Canadian Ford Dealers to interested Buyers who wanted a more upmarket car that the regular Fords.
